CLEVELAND, OH — August 20, 2026 — Qwickly is thrilled to announce the launch of Automated Check-In, a powerful new scheduling feature rolling out in Beta for the Fall 2026 semester. Designed to completely streamline the attendance-taking process for higher education institutions, this new feature removes the need for manual intervention at the start of a class, allowing Qwickly Attendance to continue setting the standard for frictionless presence verification for administrators, instructors, and students alike.

Reclaiming Instructional Time

A common challenge in modern lecture halls and classrooms is the transition period at the start of class. Instructors often have to dedicate valuable projector screen time to display an attendance check-in screen, QR code, or PIN, delaying the start of the actual lesson. With Automated Check-In, the need to display Qwickly Attendance on the screen is entirely eliminated. Instructors can immediately pull up their teaching materials, lecture slides, or lab instructions the moment they walk in the door, while Qwickly quietly and securely handles attendance in the background.

How Automated Check-In Works

The Automated Check-In feature allows instructors (or in the future, administrators) to pre-schedule attendance sessions for their courses. Once configured, the process is completely hands-off:

  1. Zero Intervention Required: When the scheduled course time arrives, the attendance session starts automatically. There is no action required from the instructor or a Teaching Assistant to open the poll.
  2. Defined Windows: Just like standard check-in sessions, the automated session remains open for a pre-defined window of time and closes automatically when that window expires.
  3. Student App Integration: Students simply use the Qwickly Attendance App on their mobile devices to mark themselves present during the active window.

Optimized for NFC Verification

While Automated Check-In brings convenience to other check-in formats, it was specifically designed to be used alongside Qwickly’s NFC Check-In mode. As an automated session quietly opens in the background, students simply walk into the room and tap their smartphones to designated NFC tags to verify their location. This powerful combination of automated scheduling and NFC proximity verification ensures that attendance data is effortless, highly secure, and guarantees that students are physically where they are supposed to be.

For LMS and school administrators, Automated Check-In offers a reliable way to ensure institutional attendance policies are being met without putting an administrative burden on faculty. Administrators can assist in scheduling these automated sessions at the start of the term, ensuring consistent, standardized data collection across departments.

Fall 2026 Beta Testing Now Open

As a Beta release for the Fall 2026 semester, Qwickly invites institutions to deploy Automated Check-In and provide valuable feedback to help refine the feature ahead of a wider general release.
